[REQ]Automatic replace components randomly
-
If not yet exist (minor and MAJOR request
Minor request:(construction of a 24 Components positions of a quadrangular volume given)
say a dice ("quadrugular box" can be any volume!)
but the "envelopping box" gives 24 positions)
so have a familly of 24 components (can be made manually but with efforts)
Major request : Replace a selection given of existing components with these 24 randomly (or not = same order) familly above : here dices
(or better any familly of components so more than 24
here for example 9 components results
(if components selected are cubes)
existing can be this for example and must be replace by the familly dices
and a result can be for example (depending of the origine of dices and components)
Objective is of course to make modular big forms from ingenious variation of little different volumes from simple volumes
-
Little up
it's a sort of inverse of the GhostComp from Fredo6
(replace something complex by something simple)Here it's more like Replace something simple by a complex one
Uses are infinite
More easy : replace selected components by other components from a list of components (randomly in option)

Hi Pilou
Your request is a bit cryptic for me: do you have some other ideas to show? At a first interpretation I think you're requesting a new tool to populate a space.
(Concerning me, I would like to see these possibilities available into Component Stringer)
Some Population Tools:
Didier Bur [PLUGIN] Compo Spray 1.4.1 Updated 08 January 2011
Octavian 'TBD' Chis Drop v.1.500
Octavian 'TBD' Chis Randor v.1.000 ($3.00)
a4chitect [Plugin] WIP: SmartDrop ruby
TIG [Plugin] MatrixProximity Update v1.7
Chris Fullmer [Plugin] Components onto Faces v1.0
Chris Fullmer [Plugin] Repeat Copy($8.00)PS: send me other tools you know, I shall add them to this list
simon.

Now that's clear

Excusez-moi mais je comprend que dalle

@Didier
Ah fichtre

is that more clear?
Different result following family used with 5 any objects select! (here boxes)

+1
it would be great to have a plugin that can randomly replace selected components with other different components.
-
+1 Good idea.
Its like CF "Extrapolate colors", but for components - "Extrapolate components" -
Just a little teaser
A cool guy has made the impossible!
I believe that he will publish soon his plug!
It works like a charm!
Here only with a familly of 4 positions / no limited
You call the plug and the sculpture change in a second !
My speedy module for test for give you some ideas
-
Yep the plug is released!
Random Replacement of Components by SdmitchAbout the 24 positions of the first post
By hand the 24 positions of a simple cube (easy) as Target!!!
(I export of course the 24 cubes positions for another futur one)
then 24 copy past of one Object component in the same position that you take as Source! (easy)
Then launch your plug!
Et voilà!
I can use now the result (with rename each) for a normal use for my filling space of non periodic volumes -
Little teaser
the 24 positions plug from the first post is made!
Just a little option to add and it will be released!
A very pleasant plug! Always by Sdmitch
