Bvh file for sketchup
-
Hi guys, how to open bvh file in sketchup?
Youtube VideoI followed the video but the problem is I can't open the BVH file. I've install the SAT plugin/extension,but still my sketchup 8 didn't has the toolbar to open BVH file. Open it manually also didn't work.
Is it anymore plugins need to be installed? Or this feature is not available? -
You could of course have ask all of this at the SAT forum, from whence the tool originated...
Have you definitely installed the 'extracted' files/subfolders supplied by SAT in the exact right way ?
If it was made as an Extension have you activated it from Window > Preferences > Extensions ??
Have you activated its View > Toolbar ???
etc etc... more info needed... ???? -
Thanks for your reply TIG.
Yes, I did activated the extension, succesfully by following this video.
Youtube Videoview > toolbar also activated.
Maybe there is BVH animator plugin, which i can't find it anywhere yet..just maybe..
Well, i'm using Windows 7, Sketchup 8 (free), SimFonIA Animation Tool/SAT(trial version).
Attach the print screen of my Sketchup. The SAT toolbar is there, but not the "import BVH file" tool icon like in the video. And I think maybe that "import BVH file" tool icon not belong to SAT toolbar.

So it's loading as it should.
It seems some functions might be missing.
As I don't have this tool I know insufficient to help you much.
When you installed it was there an installer with options ? or was it an extract and move files/subfolders of files into Plugins ??
DO you get any error messages at start up or when activating the tool ?
Does it come as one Extension ?
Check it's not in 'two options' - basic and advanced for example...
Perhaps this are omitted from the free-trial ?
Ask at the SAT forum, or reread their usage/options notes again... -
I also have this installed but I don't have the BVH animator plugin, we're did you get this plugin?
-
Was it not indicated in the video, sources for all files?
-
Not that I remember, but I'm gonna ave a look into it now and see
-
Wasn't the 'animator' superseded by the 'animation tools set' ??
You really need to use the tool's forum as this is too specific here... unless a member is using the tools and would like to chip in... -

The problem isn't you, it's them, they lied about this plugin, but like me feel free to contact them about it, iv done so many times and got nothing back, so be prepared to be disappointed

The BVH Animator plugin cant be found anywhere, i myself was fooled nto buying the hobby licence for this feature, which is supposed to be in the beta phase, i contacted the company who own the software (i dare not say their name) about this over 2 months ago, they replied telling me i would receive the download link within 3 days, but i didnt get it, so i waited, and waited, 2 more weeks had passed and i contacted them again and nothing, and i sent emails on a regular bases to them and still received nothing, part of the lience i payed for has customer support and im not getting this, in my views this is very unprofessional, its a disgrace, my recommendation is stay clear from this, a potentionlly great software run by clowns if you ask me.

I saw and heard the name Carnegie-Mellon used in the video. While this institution of higher learning may not be connected with the software, I would think they may take a dim view of the implications that could arise.
-
I didn't watch the video, but it probably mentioned Carnegie-Mellon in connection with their huge database of mocap files which are now freely available.
I was initially intrigued by this plugin, but having gone into it in more depth...and seen the pricing structure...it's likely that you could achieve much the same result within SketchUp, for far less money, using the Keyframe Animation plugin...or get far more bang for your bucks using iClone.
