[REQ] Copy / Rotate / Blend
-
Like Free Agent, I dream of new plug-ins; I just don't have the brains that you guys do.....
My wish: Copy / Rotate / Blend...Say I'm creating a Palm tree. I make two frons [components] that will follow a defined curve to the end of the fron and taper to suit. I group the two frons, copy to the next segment, rotate to suit the segmented curve and free scale to taper it then type say '12x' or what ever extras are required.....
Just thinking as I write, maybe could also work by 'divide'. Start with your group, copy / rotate directly to the end of the path, then type say '12/'.....What are your thoughts...? Can it be done? Is there a ruby already [or combination of] that could do it efficiently....?

Seems Grow by TIG makes that?
My favorite plug- for the path Bend by Fredo6 ou Shape Bender by Chris Fullmer and all your dreams will be raised

Thanks Pilou, Not exactly what I had in mind though maybe something there to work with.... Let me have a play and report back with some more specifics....
BTW, cool screen colours....

This is what i was thinking....
Say you want to start with a shape / face / line / component or group...
And copy - scale - rotate it to look like this [see attached] What i want to do is divide the two shapes into say 20 divisions making each a ratio or the two end pieces...
I was thinking that you could select the first item then pick the other, input how many to multiply by or divide by then WAH, LAH!!!
Hope I have made myself clear...
Thanks in advance.

Looking at that example, I'm pretty sure something like that would not be too tough to create.
I don't know if I could make it follow the path on my first version of the script. But just a simple linear array which interpolates the rotation/scale of the first and last objects should be possible.
Let me see if I can throw together a rough working version that you can test.
